Houston Training School’s Cosmetology Instructor Program
Do you have a passion for helping others? Are you already in the beauty and Cosmetology profession and feel a desire to pass your expertise on to other motivated students? The Cosmetology Instructor program offered by Houston Training Schools (HTS) is designed to train you in basic teaching skills, educational judgments, proper work habits and desirable attitudes necessary to pass the state board examination and display the competency necessary for entry-level positions as a Cosmetology instructor or another related career.
Students wishing to apply to the Cosmetology Instructor program at HTS must have a high school diploma or GED and a current Texas Cosmetology License.
Classes
The instructor program is 750 hours of total course work. The classes provide a comprehensive learning base designed to equip you with the knowledge and skills necessary to excel in the instruction of Cosmetology, including:
- Theory
- Course Development and Lesson Planning
- Teaching Methods
- Teaching Aids
- Theory Teaching and Classroom Management
- Testing and Student Evaluation
- Laboratory Supervision
- Miscellaneous
All hour requirements must be met in each category in addition to all other licensing requirements to be eligible for the state licensing examination. A diploma is awarded upon successful completion of the program.
